Former President of the United States, Barack Obama, made a scathing statement on Monday (17) about videos of unidentified aerial phenomena, which continue to gain American attention.
“What’s true, and I’m actually serious, is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are,” he said.
According to NBC News, Obama’s comments add legitimacy to reports of the phenomenon of unidentified objects and the government’s knowledge of them.
During his appearance on CBS’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, Obama showed a certain levity in dealing with the alien issue, in addition to his personal curiosity before assuming a more serious behavior.
“We can’t explain how they move, their trajectory,” he said. “They didn’t have an easily explainable pattern. And so I think people still take it seriously, trying to investigate and find out what it is.”
The US Navy took years to confirm the legitimacy of videos of fighter jets tracking unidentified objects. In some of them, objects moved in ways that aeronautical experts still can’t explain.
A recent Pentagon report, combined with a newly leaked video and an article in The New Yorker on the topic, have fueled interest in the subject in the United States. The video, recorded by US Navy aircraft in July 2019, shows a spherical object flying above the ocean before plunging into the water. The topic caught the attention of some senators, including Marco Rubio, who asked for a more in-depth investigation into the phenomenon.
